Alcatel OT-E801

Alcatel OT-E801 The OT-E801 features dedicated music control keys on the side, and is an easy-to-use, low budget handheld.
It has a rubberized case, a 65k color CSTN screen display with a resolution of 128 x 128 and comes in black or white.

It is described as being a ‘fashion statement’ but it looks more like an Mp3 player than can also behave as a mobile phone to me. Apart from some features that make it a really nice music phone, like a MiniSD card slot, the Sandisk 128MB card that comes as standard, and the possibility to expand memory up to 2 GB (around 800 tracks) the OT-E801 doesn’t offer much. Music can be transferred on the mobile via USB.

It’s somewhat surprising that this handheld was designed especially for young, stylish, music lovers considering the fact that it does not support any form of data network and doesn’t include a camera.

OT-E801 has a talktime of up to 10 hours on a single battery charge and a standby time of 250+ hours. On pre-pay it costs as little as £ 39.99.
