The EF81 is touted as an ultra-slim 3G phone that is forged with high-quality materials that give this clamshell an elegant finish.
At 15.9mm thick, its silver-coloured slender frame houses a 2.2in internal display (262,111 colours), an almost flat stainless steel keypad, a 2.0-megapixel camera, Bluetooth as well as a media player for music and movies.
In addition to its 64MB built-in memory, it has a microSD card slot that is expandable up to 1GB.
The EF81 can also be paired with an external GPS (Global Positioning System) module.
Music at the top
A winner of the Internal Forum (iF) design award (China) at CeBIT Asia this year, the E61 is a triband (GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz) phone that is made for music-lovers.
While most phones usually have an on/off button located in its upper rim, BenQ-Siemens has made interesting use of this space to house five buttons that basically act as music-player interface.
The wedge-shaped candy bar phone has a 1.8in TFT display, a VGA camera with 2x/4x digital zoom and a miniSD card slot.
It can play up to 10 hours of music in a variety of file formats (MP3/AAC/AAC+).
The E61 also includes a stereo headset and a six-mode equaliser.
Vivid display
Also an iF design award-winner, the S88 is a triband camera phone with multimedia capabilities.
Its most outstanding feature is its 2in active matrix OLED (Organic light-emitting display), which has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 170° wide viewing angle – this beats the 200:1 ratio and 120° viewing angle of TFT screens, claims BenQ- Siemens.
The candybar phone comes with a 2-megapixel camera (16x digital zoom) that supports macro mode, and a twin-LED flash.
It also has a music player that can play a variety of music file formats in 3D surround sound (when a stereo headset is used).
The S88 has 20MB built-in memory, a microSD card slot for storage up to 1GB and Bluetooth.
