Verizon are launching the black rubberized Motorola Q just in time for the holiday season. Verizon subscribers that
insist on having the black Motorola Q instead of the silver one will have to pay an extra $ 50 just for having the honor of owning the black version.
Paying extra for the change of color seems to be a premiere at Verizon who has also launched red and green versions of the LG Chocolate without changing the handset’s price. Verizon’s Motorola Q is also rumored to ship with the 2nd software update and, if the rumor proves to be true, the update will soon be available for all Motorola Q users.
The slim Motorola Q comes with exactly the same features as stated before, including a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, a full QWERTY keyboard for the messaging and web browsing enthusiasts out there and Bluetooth and Infrared for connectivity. It is small and slim enough to be held with only one hand, measuring 116 x 63 x 12 mm and weighing only 115 grams.
The Windows Mobile 5.0 powered Motorola Q also features high-quality stereo features, Mp3 playing capabilities and the ability to transmit stereo music over Bluetooth, as well as a MiniSD card slot for memory expansion, allowing the user to store a larger number of multimedia files or documents on a MiniSD card.
The black Q will ship with a carrying case instead of a holster and has a price of $149.99 on a two year agreement after a mail-in rebate presuming one chooses the black version of Motorola Q instead of the silver that can be purchased for $50 less.
