GENME Launches VoIP On Nokia Phones
July 18th, 2006 - Posted in NokiaGENME Services Sdn Bhd, a next generation telecommunications solution and services provider, has announced the commercial availability of its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service called F2T vWiFi on the Nokia E series phones.
The service allows users to make VoIP calls direct from their mobile phones while in Wi-Fi zones in the office, at home or at cafes, hotels, airports, eateries and at any Internet HotSpot, the company said in a statement.
The Nokia E60, E61 and E70 handsets will be shipped directly to customers pre-configured with the GENME F2T vWiFi service and when the Nokia user is in a Wi-Fi zone, they will be able to make mobile VoIP calls directly from their mobile handsets.
Calls from the Nokia E series phones to another Nokia E series phones by using F2T vWiFi will be totally free and unlimited from any phone call charges, whereas calls from the same Nokia phones to over 200 fix Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and mobil network will be at discounted rates of up to 80 percent from the traditional carriers’ retail rates.
