The iPAQ hw6920 Mobile Messenger utilizes not only Cingular’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE wireless network but also has the communication capabilities of WiFi, GPS, infrared transfers and Bluetooth.
The hw6920 runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 with features such as Internet Explorer, Outlook and Windows Media Player, and the hw6925 model has a 1.3-megapixel HP Photosmart camera that can take still pictures and videos.
The hw6920 also comes with GPS navigation capabilities. Bluetooth and Infrared are available for short-range wireless communication. One of the nice things about this cell phone is that it comes with Messaging and Security Feature Pack, giving a lot more control to the user in case the device is lost or stolen. Things like remote wipe and remotely controlled IP policies make it suitable for the business types.
The iPAQ hw6920 series is planned to debut along side Cingular’s first generally available, mapping solution called TeleNav GPS Navigator. With TeleNav, iPAQ users can get voice and onscreen navigation instructions directly on the hw6920. The TeleNav GPS Navigator software and data will be able to provide more than 10 million points of interest on the navigation software maps along with additional navigation search tools.
The iPAQ hw6920 series is available from Cingular Wireless’ B2B sales organization for as low as $359.99 for business customers with a two-year contract and qualifying voice and data plans. The iPAQ hw6920 series also is available through hp.com and select HP channel partners.
