I-Mate to release JAQ3 and K-Jar

i-mate, who recently unveiled the JAQ and the SPL at Mobile Asia 2006, has readied a follow-up to their JASJAR handset called the K-JAR.
the K-JAR does GSM/GPRS, Windows Mobile 5, of course, running on a TI OMAP750 with 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM. It’s got a 2.8″ QVGA (320×240) display, unlike the JASJAR which has a full VGA (640×480) screen. The top half of the K-JAR appears to be able to be flipped and turned around just like the JASJAR, revealing a full QWERTY keyboard underneath. It has WiFi, Bluetooth and all that, but unlike the JASJAR, the K-JAR doesn’t seem to have 3G capabilities. This makes the K-JAR a sort of a trimmed down (budget) version of the JASJAR. Also, the JASJAR was manufactured by HTC, but the K-JAR has been manufactured by TechFaith Wireless.
The upgrade to the JAQ is called the JAQ3. The specifications of the JAQ3 include a wide QVGA (320×240) display, QWERTY keypad, 2-megapixel digital camera, Windows Mobile 5.0, GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth 1.2 A2DP, 64 MB of built-in memory and a miniSD slot, etc. The JAQ3 puts the phone in the class of the Nokia E61 and the Samsung SGH-i320 phones.
