MoBif and SAINS Sign VoIP Telephony Pact
April 4th, 2006 - Posted in Other, VoIPMoBif Bhd and Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) have reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in a bid to work together on VoIP telephony.
The companies will collaborate on research, development and service of VoIP-based telephony infrastructure and equipment in Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei, Malaysia.
As per the agreement, Mobif Bhd will provide telephony solutions, project management and regional systems support and maintenance services to SAINS customers.
SAINS, an information and communications technology (ICT) systems integrator and solutions provider serving government agencies and corporations, is reportedly aiming to cross the 5,000 mark for VoIP customers by end of the year. The company was incorporated in 1992 and has strategically developed a presence in Malaysia as a leading ICT systems integrator and solutions provider. The key service areas that SAINS is looking into are consultancy, software development and integration, networking and systems engineering, project management and multimedia content development.
VoIP service provider MoBif Bhd, in the meanwhile, has plans to expand into the European and South American markets. The company has established a global VoIP telephony network with 12 countries, including the US, Italy, El Salvador, China, Australia, India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The company’s tag line is that they provide “cost-effective total solutions†and the company is confident that demand for its services will grow.
The MoU was signed in Kuching by Kevin Leong, chief executive officer MoBif, and Teo Tien Hiong, chief executive officer SAINS group.
