Sony Ericsson has announced a new 3G smartphone, the M600. From the design, it looks amazing and it is powered by a Symbian 9.1 OS with UIQ 3.0 interface. There is an absence of a camera but still nothing to regret with other features it has. The QWERTY keypad layout is combined with the numbers on the front of the phone. It supports UMTS, has a 2.6″ QVGA touchscreen which supports resolution upto 240×320 pixels, has an internal memory of 80 MB with an option to expand it with the Memory Stick Micro. And finally, it has the options to edit Office files like PowerPoint, Word, Excel and a viewer for PDF files.
The M600 also features the same UIQ 3.1 as the newly announced P990, and offers Thin design (measuring in at only 15mm thick), Blackberry, Intellisync, Activesync, Seven and Visto email server connectivity, stereo Bluetooth, 80MB internal memory, Sony’s new MemoryStick Micro, QVGA display, Jog dial (similar to P9xx devices) and of course GSM 900/1800/1900 with UMTS 2100.
The M600 will start shipping during the second quarter and price is unknown at this point. The M600i may in fact come to North America as well.
