Cingular, Union Reach Tentative Agreement
March 28th, 2006 - Posted in VoIPThree hours before a threatened midnight strike, an agreement was reached Sunday night between Cingular Wireless and the union representing about 11,000 of its customer service employees in nine southeastern states.
The Communications Workers of America Local 3204 told its members to return to work as scheduled Monday and said ballots will be mailed to members soon so they can either approve or reject the tentative agreement.
Seigel said the new agreement addressed key concerns of the employees and gave the company flexibility.
The tentative agreement covers employees in District 3, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
