Philips VP6000/6500

The Federal Communications Commission has approved two Philips VoIP handsets, the VP6000 and the VP6500, two white phones coming to cheer up our holidays.
The devices are pretty much the same at a first glance, but on a closer inspection, you will be able to find the one single thing making them so different: the TV-OUT ability of the latter.
What are you going to do with it? Obviously, to connect your newly purchased WiFi enabled handset to the TV set with the help of a component cable for a larger view of the phone’s
screen, although I’m skeptic about the quality of the image going to be displayed by the VP6500 on your TV’s large display.
Beside being able to make calls, the two phones also offer a rotating VGA digital camera with integrated auto image adaptation technology, video freeze capability, a quite large 2.2 inch TFT color display, a loudspeaker stuck on the back of the device, a help function and WEP/WPA/WPA2 support.
This is not everything you’ll get for your money if you buy one of these two handsets because in the box you’ll also find a charging dock, a power supply, two 1800 mAh NiMh AA batteries, TV-link cable to get all huge on the video viewing side of the WiFi calling experience, earphones, a necessary quick start guide and a user manual.
